Yes, when residents are registered for a Burn Permit they are automatically added to the Fire Status change
email system. Now anytime you change the Fire Status, the Burn Permit
holder will be notified of the change to the Fire Status.
Can I stop Permit Holders from registering a burn during Complete Fire Bans?
Yes, the system will automatically inform the caller that a complete fire ban is in effect and will stop them from registering a burn. The caller can still
register the end of their open burn which was opened before the fire ban went into effect.
Can I inform callers of Fire Restrictions when there isn't a complete Fire Ban?
Yes, the system will inform the caller of the current Fire Status and any Fire Restrictions in place.
Can I set the expiry date of a Burn Permit?
Yes, you have the option of setting the expiry date or letting the system set the expiry date to the last day of the year (December 31st).
Can Permit Holders register a burn on-line?
Yes, the Permit Holder can register their burns on-line by simply supplying their Burn Permit number and the Phone Number they
supplied when they registered for a Burn Permit.
Can Permit Holders register a burn via text messaging?
Yes, Permit Holders can register their burns via text messaging.

Each text message receives a response and the cost for receiving a text message is 1 minute (this includes the response text)
Can I use my existing phone number?
Yes, if your existing phone number can be forwarded to ours then it is possible to use your number.
Call-in phone number is always shown on the website and on the printed Burn Permit
Do I need to purchase your Fire Department Theme to use your Call-in system?
Yes, currently you need the Fire Department Theme.
How long does a call take?
To register a burn or close a burn the call lasts on average 40 seconds
Calls are rounded up to the minute. So a call lasting from 1 to 60 seconds will be billed as 1 minute and a call lasting from 61 to 120 seconds will be billed as 2 minutes
Any System limitations or restrictions applied?
Yes, if you exceeded 1500 minutes of inbound calling per year you will be charged extra
No need to worry, callers can still register the start or end of a burn if you exceed your minutes.
What is the cost of purchasing extra minutes?
For a local number it is $16 and for a Toll Free number it is $21 for 125 minutes of in-bound calls
Can I carry over minutes from year to year?
Yes, all minutes not used during your billing period will be added to the following billing period.
Do you inform Burn Permit holders of registered open burns that they haven't closed?
Yes, a Burn Permit holder would receive nightly reminders of any registered open burns. Within the
email
there is a link that they can use to close the burn.
What happens if the caller does not register the end of their burn?
On the second day we will automatically close any open burns and send an
email
to the Burn Permit holder.
The number of days before the system will close an open burn can be customized to fit your needs
